Overview
The Lower Omo Valley is home to an extraordinary mosaic of peoples — Hamar, Mursi, Karo, Dassanech and more — each with distinct traditions of dress, ceremony and craft. Travel south through dramatic Rift Valley scenery, visit weekly tribal markets, watch a Hamar bull-jumping ceremony when the season allows and camp under southern stars.

Itinerary

Day 1: Addis Ababa to Arba Minch
Fly south to Arba Minch. Afternoon boat trip on Lake Chamo to see crocodiles and hippos.
Breakfast Lodge - 2
Day 2: Arba Minch to Turmi
Drive through Konso country (UNESCO cultural landscape) to Turmi, heartland of the Hamar people.
Breakfast Lodge - 3
Day 3: Turmi & Omorate
Cross the Omo River to a Dassanech village, and visit a Hamar village in the afternoon.

Day 4: Turmi to Jinka
Morning market visit, then drive to Jinka through Benna country.
Breakfast Lodge - 5
Day 5: Mago National Park & the Mursi
Early excursion into Mago National Park to visit a Mursi village, famed for lip-plates and body painting.
Breakfast Lodge - 6
Day 6: Jinka to Addis Ababa
Fly back to Addis Ababa. Farewell dinner at a traditional cultural restaurant on request.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations made more than 30 days before departure incur no penalty. 29–21 days before departure: 25% of the total cost. 20–8 days before departure: 50% of the total cost. Less than 7 days before departure: 100% of the total cost.
